What to Think about when Travelling to Croatia for the Very First Time

If you are travelling to Croatia for the very first time then you will certainly have a lot of planning to do. You also need to make sure that you are travelling at the right time as well because if you don’t then you may find that you end up paying way more than you need for your accommodation.

Book Ahead

Croatia is one of the top travel destinations in the world. The summer is the most popular season to travel so if you want to go during this time then you need to book well in advance. If you are budget minded or if you want to try and skip out on the hordes of people then you may want to wait a few months. Consider travelling in late September or even October. When you do this, you will still get the great weather and you can also access some great accommodation. After all, there are some very classy villas in Croatia and by travelling later, you can have the first pick of them.

Think outside the Box

When you travel to Croatia, you may be tempted to book a hotel. Sometimes you really do need to think outside the box. Consider looking into staying in one of the local bed and breakfasts, or even try and find a hidden gem. You may also want to look into a villa or a holiday home. Either way, sometimes you can get a way nicer room for half the price and when you look into things like this, you can be sure to really get a good result out of your booking.

Croatia makes it very easy for you to travel around. Some of the destinations are connected via a ferry and others give you the chance to travel by bus or train. Buses are the most popular method of travel and they are also the fastest. You have various departure times and you can also see the cities up close and personal. Trains are remarkably cheaper but they can take longer, so it’s worth weighing up how long you are going for, and how long it is going to take you to travel between each destination. Uber are very popular in Croatia as well, so consider this as an option.

If you love to dine out then you certainly won’t be disappointed in some of the various restaurants that Croatia has to offer. They have something for everyone and you won’t want to miss out at all. If you are not one for dining out then try and explore some of the options that are near to your hotel room. Street food is also very popular, so it helps to wander around and see what is available. It doesn’t take long to do but it could make all the difference to your stay. You never know, you may even find your new favorite dish as well, so it’s really worth taking the time to find out what is in your area.
