Coloring For Adults: Color Dream Mandalas by Wendy Piersall

I’ve been wanting to try out a “grown-up coloring book” when I first heard about this type of coloring books for adults. Everyone seems to want to get on the grown-up coloring book trend, because when I talk about it, they say things like, “Oh, I heard about that,” or “I want to get one!”.

Recently, adults across the country have started coloring in coloring books as a way to relax and unwind. Coloring lets stressed-out adults feel like a kid again in a way and the health benefits go way beyond relaxation, like exercising fine motor skills and training the brain to focus.

When I got the opportunity to try  Coloring Dream Mandalas: 30 Hand-drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation by Wendy Piersall, I was super happy to do so!

This coloring book really doesn’t seem like a coloring book. The pictures are so beautiful and detailed. I didn’t know which picture to color first. I decided on this page:

I didn’t finish in time for photos, and I suggest investing in colored pencils. I used crayons and you just can’t get to the fine detailed areas with them.

Maybe the next time you are thinking about getting on Instagram or Facebook to kill time, maybe kicking back with a coloring pencil and a mandala coloring book would be better use of your time.

Did you love coloring when you were a kid?
