I’m on a new mission to try to be healthy in anyway I can. I admit, I can see why people don’t switch totally over to just healthy foods and natural living.
Healthy is hard to do!
It can be an expensive task as well. I just ordered a ton of items on Amazon to start changing over somethings in my life to more natural and healthy living like, hair products, food, and maybe some other things. There is an intial large cost in the beginning, but I’m hoping that once I have the main things like essential oils and herbs that it will be easier (and less expensive) from there.
My favorite thing right now is my natural coconut oil deodorant. I just love it! I have a recipe I use, but I also like to support local businesses where I live, so I buy it from a nice lady that I met at a health fair that uses a similar recipe.
I seriously forget to use it some days because it works that well.
She sells it in a roll on form and as a bar. Just in case you don’t have access to a roll on container, the bar works just as well. It’s my favorite way to use it!
Here is an easy homemade deodorant recipe you NEED to make:
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup shea butter
- 1/2 cup beeswax
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
- 1/2 cup organic arrowroot powder
- Essential oil of choice
- Optional: Small glass bowl
Combine coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a double boiler.
Bring water to a boil. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth.
Remove from heat and add baking soda, arrowroot powder, and essential oils. Make sure the mixture is just warm to the touch and gently stir by hand until all ingredients are incorporated.
Pour into muffin tins or a small glass bowl that is lined with saran wrap, or other molds while still liquid. I like to keep it in the fridge (don’t forget to label it!) because it feels great going on cold.
