Bringing Simple Abundance into Your Life-Giveaway ends 9/20

Over the years, I’ve found myself always “second thinking” whenever I wanted to buy something. I couldn’t help myself. It was drilled into my head to not buy what you don’t need.

“You don’t know what your future holds for you and you need to be prepared,” our parents taught us.

The guilt would eat me up if I bought a new pair of shoes just for the heck of it.

If I would  buy something that I didn’t need, I would leave it in the package for weeks before I let myself have it. I’m not sure why. Maybe I was giving myself a chance to take it back so the guilt didn’t overwelm me. It was hard to let myself enjoy pleasures like that.

When I found Sarah Ban Breathnach’s  book Simple Abundance , I found a way to change my thinking and enjoy life’s “affordable luxuries” without guilt.

“The Universe is not stingy. We are. Some of us have very stingy souls. Perhaps not in how we treat others–our family, friends, and those less fortunate–but in how we treat ourselves. Yet how can Spirit give more to us if our fists, hearts, and minds are clenched tight?”-Sarah Ban Breathnach

This changed how I look at life. I now look for luxury in the little things.

  • I stop at Starbucks on Sundays with my mom and daughter for a special coffee.
  • We go to the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and buy mini banana bread loaves for breakfast.
  • I buy used books off of Ebay-I’m old school and like to be able to “feel” my books.
  • My youngest and I buy one expensive chocolate bar once a week and share it.

It doesn’t even have to be something that costs money. I love going around and trying samples at Target on the weekends. Sometimes, I buy what they are offering. Other times, I don’t.  It’s fun to try new things and get ideas as well.

Take a new look at life and find the simple luxuries in it. Make every day a special occassion and reduce the stress in your life by allowing yourself to be worthy of such attention.  Have fun with the simple things!

Do you take time to enjoy life’s “affordable luxuries”?

I’m excited to let one lucky reader experience the luxury of winning a copy of Simple Abundance!
