Summer hasn’t been too bad this year weather wise where I live in the Midwest. Some totally hot days. Some nice days. Some rainy days. A great mixer of temps for me. Is it global warming? I hope not. I hope it’s just Mother Nature getting a little nicer in her old age.
We haven’t been able to check out the swimming pools yet this summer, so that means I haven’t had to drag out the swimsuit out of storage yet. We did experiment with homemade sprinklers, thanks to all the awesome Pinterest DIY ideas.
Since my last popsicle experiment, I have been combing Pinterest for other popsicle flavors. Of course I look for that one important flavor-chocolate. Come on, you knew I was going to say that.
Add pudding to that, and you have a perfect treat!
A simple recipe, using Jello’s Oreo pudding mix, milk, and Oreo cookies (I actually had to use an off brand of Oreos this time because someone grabbed the wrong kind). I call it light because I used 2% milk. That helps a bit, doesn’t it?? I just had to add extra crumbles of cookie to the mix because you need lots of texture in your pops. Don’t you agree?
I found what I call “old fashion” popsicle sticks in a bag of crafts that my stepmom gave me awhile back. I actually was looking online to find these cute little guys, when I realized that I had them in my home already. I’m not even sure what made me look in that bag. Maybe it was some popsicle force, sending me to the basement to find these little guys.
Or, maybe I was looking for pipe cleaners for a craft project and stumbled across them.
Emily was so excited to make these, she barely let me get any photos in. She kept asking, are they done yet? I explained to her that the Internet wanted a chance to see how they turned out. She really didn’t care about you guys. As soon as they froze “enough” to hold the stick, she was grabbing one and ripping it out of the cup. I ended up having to hide some and get up early in the morning to get photos.
Shhh, don’t tell her they are still hidden in the back of the freezer, so I actually get to eat one.
