Planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort is exciting, but when you have a limited time to explore, it can get stressful. Universal Orlando Resort is comprised of three theme parks — Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay water park. If that wasn’t enough, there is also CityWalk, a shopping and dining promenade.
So, how does maximize their time to get the greatest experience? Here are 5 tips for your best experience at Universal Studios:
1. Buy your tickets in advance.
You’ll save time and money when you buy your Universal Studios tickets in advance. If you are a Harry Potter fan (and without a Universal Express pass), you definitely want to take advantage of this guaranteed entry and early admission.
2. Pick the best times to visit.
While you won’t find yourself in a deserted park ever, there are times that a family day out at Universal Studios are better than others where crowds are concerned. You’ll find the waits are lowest in the fall and spring. Avoid the days around the holidays and times when children are out of school. Weekdays are often less crowded than weekdays.
3. Get the Universal Express pass during the busiest times.
If you have to come during a busy time like around the holidays, spring break or summer, consider purchasing Universal Express passes. With this pass, you will get one-time priority to every ride, show and attraction. This will give you the opportunity to maximize your time at Universal Studios. The Universal Express pass will give you the opportunity to see attraction even on the most crowded day. If you wonder how this works, the park limits the number of Universal Express passes it sells, so you won’t have to worry about too many passes going through. Buy your Universal Studios Universal Express passes in advance to save time in ticket lines.
4. Arrive ahead of park opening.
This is a given! When you arrive ahead of park opening, you will have the opportunity to be one of the first people inside the park and will have the opportunity to ride the rides with the very lowest waits of the entire day. Plan on extra time to park the car, go through security and go through the entry gate.
5. Plan your visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Let me give you the best tip: STAY ON THE RESORT!! You get to go an hour earlier than people not staying there. Why would you not want to take advantage of that??
Try this route when going through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: First thing in the morning, ride the Wizarding World rides — Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff. Then, ride other rides with short wait times. Visit Hogsmeade later in the day for lunch and shopping when the rides are at their busiest times. The line for Ollivander’s is longest in the morning after opening. Wait until the line drops off in the late afternoon and evening.
