One of the most obvious ways to make a difference is to be the leader of a charity or organisation that is on a mission to create change. You will be the one that motivates the team to be better people and go out to make a difference, and at the same time you will be able to earn a good enough wage to support you and the ones you love the most.

Occupational Therapist

The role of an occupational therapist is to provide car for those who have health issues and struggle to provide for themselves. In the role you will be the one responsible for helping those with physical difficulties to find a job role appropriate for them and to help them live independently for themselves. It will allow you to get people back on their feet after an injury or illness and give them the freedom they never had before. You will be the one that makes a difference and allows them to go on and live a normal life again.

As a grants manager you will be responsible for providing a whole host of organisations, foundations and charities with the funding they need to carry on doing the good work they currently do. You will be the person who they come to and pitch their case to, and you will have the decision on whether or not this cause is worth the fight for. You will need to earn a degree for this role and it is a crucial role to take on for the upkeep of charities in your country.


You may hear that doctors get all of the glory because they are the ones who perform the most complex procedures and save lives, but nurses have a hugely vital role too. A nurse is the person you will talk to when you are in the hospital. They are the ones who bring you food and water, look after you and make sure that you are feeling ok. They provide a crucial service by making people feel looked after and cared about. OST nurses can start out with an A’s climates degree and work their way up whilst working in the field. They are integral people in every hospital.

This job role might seem like a random one to add into a list about changing lives, but in fact it is an incredibly important role to take on in our society. The job role of an intelligence analyst is to work alongside the government or in the military and make the world a safer place. This can be in the form of hunting down criminals, thwarting drug rings and a whole host more. These are the people who work behind the scenes to keep the streets safe from harm and make sure that everybody is able to continue their daily lives without threat. If you want a lucrative career where you are able to protect people and keep them from harm, this is the perfect job for you.

This is a perfect type of role if you are the sort of person who loves to talk to others and spread the word about great causes. As a director of development you will work for a non profit organisation in order to bring in funds for the charity to keep it running at full speed. The charity will depend on you to keep growing and be able to carry out all of the great work they do. It could involve you traveling to brands, schools and events to talk about the charity and why it is such an important cause to get behind. If you are passionate about a certain cause it could be worth trying to apply for this type of role to make the most of your skills.

Foundation Program Officer

If you already have skills in the business sector and are adept at making decisions, you will fit in perfectly with this role. As a program office your main job will be to decide high proposals to accept on behalf of a foundation. This means that you will be the one who distributes the foundation’s money to the best causes to make sure that the funds are being used for the right things in the world. You could be the one responsible for funding life changing medical research or a conservation project overseas.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Exactly what it says on the tin, this role will involve you working on research projects in order to grow your knowledge of diseases and other issues, to come up with a cure or solution. You will need to have a degree in the relevant science and possibly also a masters degree depending on how advanced the research will be. You will however be able to be on the front line when researching new medicines and other innovations which could influence the whole world.
