Great Ideas for a Teenagers Birthday Party

When you are a parent, there are always those decisions you need to make when it comes to celebrations. It can be quite easy when they are young because they don’t know what they want. You can have a nice party with balloons, and they will be happy. As they grow up, these decisions can start to get harder. They start to want themed parties based on their favorite characters and then they want their friends to go with them to restaurants on their birthday. When they become teenagers, throwing a birthday party becomes more difficult, so what can you arrange for them that they will like to do?

Spa Party

There will be some teenagers who will love the idea of going to a spa for their birthday party. It is usually best if they only invite a few close friends, but it can still be a lot of fun. You can arrange for a spa professional to help them get the most out of their day, and you can get them new robes and flip flops to wear while they are there. It is the ideal place for those teens that love to be pampered. If you pick a spa that is near a hotel, you can combine the two to have a relaxing weekend. They can stay over in the hotel to enjoy the on-site pool and then move to the spa for their day of relaxation.

Video Game Party

Let’s face it, most teenagers will love to play video games, and this may seem like the perfect idea for a birthday party. However, you will need to make it different from all the other times they have had friends around to play games. You can make some cakes that are in the shape of video game characters or maybe one made to look like a console. Arrange a tournament for them all to complete in and win prizes at the end, you can even have a forfeit for the loser. Try to choose games that have multiplayer options and can be used online. That way, your teen can have players joining in from other parts of the country.

Alternatively, you can try and find a gaming convention around the same time of your teenager’s birthday, and take them and their friends there.

Host a Themed Party

Having a specific theme to your teen’s party can be a lot of work, however, it will be worth it in the end. There are many themes out there, though, so it’s best to ask them for their wants and opinions before you host the party. It could include a glow party where there are lots of glow in the dark objects. You can even buy glow face paint, so the party members can have fun making themselves up. Another theme could be a glitter party if you can handle the mess afterwards, or perhaps a ribbon party. Whatever theme they choose, you can make some cakes to go along with the theme and decorate the house as well. With themed parties, it can be a good idea to let them help in the planning and setting up that way; you will know if they like the theme.

Social Media Party

Teens are more in tune with social media than ever before, with children having a mobile phone from an early age. They understand how social media works and what fun they can have with it. That is why having a social media party can be such a good idea, it will be a good excuse to create some social media icon cakes or other nibbles, and you can let your imagination run wild. You can have a dressing up area where they can snap pictures in a funny costume, and you can set up a special hashtag, so all of the friends can see the pictures and comment. It is also a great way to involve other friends who might not be able to make it to the party. If the pictures are going to be shown on social media, you will need consent from the parents to ensure that they are happy to have their kids shown.

Team-Based Parties

If you don’t want to have a big party at your home, then there are other ways you can hold an event that the whole group can attend. Try to find outdoor activities that allow teams to compete or just have fun. It could be that you arrange an assault course party where everyone has to do their best to get around the course. Another idea is to get everyone to take part in a puzzle adventure game. There are many such places in many states such as the St. Louis Escape Room, where the competitors must solve clues to escape. If you are assured nice weather, you can always organize a party Olympics. You can have fun party games such as the sack race or the giant Jenga game and have award ceremonies with (chocolate) medals.

Movie Party

There are a couple of ways that you can arrange a movie party, you can hire a movie theater where they can watch the latest movies, or you can set one up at home. The benefit of holding a movie party at home is that you can select what movies you like instead of just the ones at the cinema. You can hand out popcorn and hotdogs along with a sweet cart and drinks area. Set out some comfy chairs or beanbags for everyone to sit on as you want them to be relaxed and having fun. You will need to ensure that all of the movies are age appropriate for the kids that will be there, but that there will be many movies that they will all enjoy. You can even hire a projector and screen to give it that authentic look and feel, plus more people will be able to see the movie at one time.

You might think that trying to organize a party for a teenager is the most difficult thing in the world, though it can be easy. All you need is to think about the things they enjoy doing and create a party around that.
